March 16 Session: 5th Grade Program

Students will have 9 weeks of classroom workshops, presentations, and lectures.  Then they will complete their final Challenge which is presented by The San Diego Regional Airport Authority.  Students will speak with and learn from leaders that represent an airline and the airport authority.  They will get behind the scenes access to how the airport and airlines operate.  They will then design their own airline, based on real market conditions, profitability, social responsibility, their mission, vision, etc, then try to convince the Airport Authority (through a presentation and negotiations) to let them base their airline at The San Diego Airport.  At completion, the students will take part in a graduation ceremony where their family has an opportunity to see their accomplishments and show their support.

Meetings will be held at The La Jolla Riford Library, 7555 Draper Avenue, La Jolla, CA 92037.  Every Monday from 3:30 - 5:30pm
